The Self-Suicidal Path of the EU: A Call for Public Diplomacy and People's Power

It's not the regular conference. It's extremely important, historically speaking, because I know many of the former speakers that this is a transitional period for humanity. And in this transitional historical period, we face both challenges and we face both dangers. So it is our job to try to cooperate and collaborate among ourselves.

 

The International Association of Friends of Crimea works in the context of public diplomacy. And public diplomacy has more space now than it did five or ten years ago because we have the decay of official diplomacy. Russia, the Russian government, along with other governments, they still remain a part of the world of diplomacy. But we see that the Euro-Atlantic powers are giving up diplomacy nowadays. Let us make a hypothesis that we were not in this room people of the political sciences, the social sciences, of movements, and we were a part of a medical conference, analysis of medicine and psychiatric health. I say this because it seems almost illogical and very difficult to describe the European leaders today on how they behave politically.

They disregard the sense of history. They disregard the interests of the European people in the European Union. They disregard the lessons of wars. They disregard the lessons of Nazism and fascism, which Europe gave birth to in the 20th century, into wars. It makes more reasoning and logic to imagine that the European oligarchs and the European colonialists are losing ground today in the polycentric world in the Greek language we use polycentric not bipolar because in Greece we cannot say that we have more than the north and the south pole we only have two poles so we like to mention geographically and politically speaking a polycentric world where Africa Latin America, Eurasia, and North America, and Asia, of course, as I mentioned, are important centers for humanity today.

 It seems that the European Union has lost its place in this policy-centered world. But it's not the fault of the emerging powers of the policy-centered world. It is the self-suicidal road of the European Union leaders. Two examples. The sanctions against Russia which started in 2014. These sanctions were boomerangs which were thrown towards Russia but came back and hit the head of the European Union. Today the European Union is going through a multi-dimensional poverty. Energetic poverty, housing poverty, public policies such as medical, public institutions and educational institutions.

We have a great influx of immigration from Southern Europe to the rest of the world. I will give you two examples of the decay of the political system of the European Union. I will mention two countries. My country, Greece, which is portrayed historically as the first country that gave birth to democracy. But during the memorandum years imposed by the International Monetary Fund and the European Union, we gave place to bankocracy. Bankocracy, not democracy. And then Montenegro, which came after the destruction of Yugoslavia as an entity of a state, the place of democracy towards casino democracy. This is decay of the political system of the European Union. And it's very sad for a member of the European Union to say this, but we say it knowing, and especially the Greek people, that we have a 1, 000-year-old history for the Russian people, while our history with the British Empire is only 180 years old. Our history with the Arab world is 2, 000 years old.

I look at my friends there from Palestine, from Syria, from the Middle East. We have gone through historical periods for a long time, even with my Armenian friends, through a long time of genocides, holocausts, destruction, war. And we don't have to be universally educated for Greek families to know that during the second world war there were three nations in the European continent that gave rivers of blood for the liberty and freedom of Europe the red army and the soviet union the Yugoslavian guerrilla movement and the Greek guerrilla movement these three armies were the strongest armies which fought fascism and racism

And this is taught in our families from our grandfathers and our grandmothers. We don't have to read books. We know this. So, meaning that at this point, when we talk about the self-suicide of the European Union, I would just like to mention the words, two paragraphs, by Mark Rutte yesterday, the General Secretary of NATO. He said, Ten minutes between an attack on Warsaw and Madrid, Vladimir Putin has absolutely no opinion on how we organize ourselves with the alliance of the 32 members of NATO. He's not speaking about the Euro-Atlantic NATO. He's speaking about the globalized NATO, a NATO that wishes to have presence even in Taiwan in the near future. He has said this openly.

With Russia's latest missile technology, the difference between an attack on Warsaw or an attack on Madrid is only 10 minutes. So we are all on the eastern wing of Europe. Amsterdam is on the eastern wing. London is on the eastern wing. Even Washington is in the eastern wing.

So by mentioning the words of Mark Rutte, Immediately I come to my first note. The European leaders are suffering from a political Stockholm syndrome. They were abducted after the Second World War by Washington, politically, economically, colonially. Now there is a different strategy between these two. Maybe tactical, not strategic. time will show. But in this difference they seem to have at this point, the European leaders are behaving as all colonialists who have no colonies anymore. They're behaving as mediatic oligarchs who have no media that can convince the European people anymore. Meaning that this multifaceted multi-dimensional poverty, which was announced a week ago by Mrs. von der Leyen, where she announced that 800 billion euros will be taken from the pension funds of all European pensioners of all 28 countries to be transferred to the rearmament of Europe for the next five years.

So if the Prime Minister of Great Britain The president of France, the new chancellor of Germany, and I should not leave out my prime minister, who the Greek people sometimes call the butler of the European leaders, the European Union leaders. If these people are not in a pragmatic reasoning and logic of understanding world history in the last 200 years and the history of Russian people, then these people are living in a parallel universe, not even in a parallel world.

That is why I believe that in the context of public diplomacy, the Association and Friends of Crimea working along with official diplomacy, completing each other in different fields, political science, history, culture, sports, I heard with a great interest the lady, the director from the Artek Camp. All these roads of collaboration between peoples is a necessary tool to break down the wall of lies.

The wall of lies which before during the Cold War in the 50s existed between the East and the West. Now this invisible wall of lies the use of new technology, so the techno feudal oligarchs of the European Union and the North America are trying to create this invisible wall to separate people. But I do believe, and I have a lot of historical responsibility to believe, that once again, the European people, the Russian people, the people in Eurasia and Africa and Latin America will give a very strong response because this is the most unpredictable actor in politics today. You can't predict, perhaps, Mr. Trump. You can't predict European leaders, but you can never predict the sacrifice of the peoples for real democracy, for real justice, for a real world of humanity.

Это не обычная конференция. Она чрезвычайно важна с исторической точки зрения, потому что, как я знаю, многие из выступавших ранее говорили о том, что для человечества наступил переходный период. И в этот переходный исторический период мы сталкиваемся как с вызовами, так и с опасностями. Поэтому наша задача — попытаться наладить сотрудничество между собой.

 Международная ассоциация друзей Крыма работает в сфере публичной дипломатии. И у публичной дипломатии сейчас больше возможностей, чем было пять или десять лет назад, потому что официальная дипломатия приходит в упадок. Россия, российское правительство, как и правительства других стран, по-прежнему остаются частью дипломатического мира. Но мы видим, что евроатлантические державы в наши дни отказываются от дипломатии. Давайте представим, что в этой комнате собрались не люди, изучающие политические и социальные науки, а участники медицинской конференции, посвящённой анализу медицины и психического здоровья. Я говорю это потому, что сегодняшнее поведение европейских лидеров в политическом плане кажется почти нелогичным и очень сложным для описания.

Они пренебрегают историей. Они пренебрегают интересами европейского народа в Европейском союзе. Они пренебрегают уроками войн. Они пренебрегают уроками нацизма и фашизма, которые Европа породила в XX веке. Логичнее предположить, что европейские олигархи и европейские колонизаторы сегодня теряют свои позиции в полицентричном мире. Мы используем слово «полицентричный», а не «биполярный», потому что в Греции мы не можем сказать, что у нас есть что-то большее, чем северный и южный полюса. У нас только два полюса, поэтому мы предпочитаем говорить о полицентричном мире с географической и политической точек зрения, где Африка, Латинская Америка, Евразия, Северная Америка и, конечно, Азия являются важными центрами современного человечества.

Похоже, что Европейский союз утратил своё место в этом политизированном мире. Но в этом нет вины развивающихся держав политизированного мира. Это самоубийственный путь лидеров Европейского союза. Два примера. Санкции против России, введённые в 2014 году. Эти санкции были бумерангами, которые полетели в Россию, но вернулись и ударили по Европейскому союзу. Сегодня Европейский союз переживает многоаспектную бедность. Энергетическая бедность, жилищная бедность, государственная политика в таких сферах, как медицина, государственные и образовательные учреждения.

Мы наблюдаем большой приток иммигрантов из Южной Европы в другие страны мира. Я приведу вам два примера упадка политической системы Европейского союза. Я упомяну две страны. Моя страна, Греция, исторически считается первой страной, где зародилась демократия. Но в годы действия меморандума, навязанного Международным валютным фондом и Европейским союзом, мы уступили место банкократии. Банкоратия, а не демократия. А затем Черногория, которая появилась после распада Югославии как государственного образования, превратилась из демократического государства в казино-демократию.

Это упадок политической системы Европейского союза. И очень печально, что член Европейского союза говорит об этом, но мы говорим об этом, зная, и особенно греческий народ знает, что у нас с русским народом 1000-летняя история, в то время как наша история с Британской империей насчитывает всего 180 лет. Наша история взаимоотношений с арабским миром насчитывает 2000 лет.

Я смотрю на своих друзей из Палестины, Сирии, с Ближнего Востока. Мы с моими армянскими друзьями прошли через множество исторических периодов, через геноциды, холокосты, разрушения, войны. И нам не нужно быть всезнайками, чтобы знать, что во время Второй мировой войны на европейском континенте было три народа, которые проливали реки крови за свободу Европы: Красная армия и Советский Союз, югославское партизанское движение и греческое партизанское движение. Эти три армии были самыми сильными армиями, которые боролись с фашизмом и расизмом.

И этому учат в наших семьях наши дедушки и бабушки. Нам не нужно читать книги. Мы это знаем. Итак, имея в виду, что на данном этапе, когда мы говорим о самоубийстве Европейского союза, я хотел бы упомянуть слова, сказанные вчера Марком Рютте, генеральным секретарём НАТО. Он сказал: «Десять минут между атаками на Варшаву и Мадрид. У Владимира Путина нет абсолютно никакого мнения о том, как мы организуем себя в альянсе из 32 членов НАТО.» Он не говорит о евроатлантическом НАТО. Он говорит о глобализации НАТО, о НАТО, которое в ближайшем будущем захочет присутствовать даже на Тайване. Он сказал это открыто.

С учётом новейших российских ракетных технологий разница между ударом по Варшаве и ударом по Мадриду составляет всего 10 минут. Так что мы все находимся на восточном фланге Европы. Амстердам находится на восточном фланге. Лондон находится на восточном фланге. Даже Вашингтон находится на восточном фланге.

 Поэтому, упомянув слова Марка Рютте, я сразу же перехожу к своей первой заметке. Европейские лидеры страдают от политического стокгольмского синдрома. После Второй мировой войны Вашингтон похитил их — политически, экономически, колониально. Теперь у этих двух стран другая стратегия. Возможно, тактическая, а не стратегическая. Время покажет. Но в этом различии, которое, похоже, существует на данный момент, европейские лидеры ведут себя как колонизаторы, у которых больше нет колоний. Они ведут себя как медиаолигархи, у которых больше нет СМИ, способных убедить европейцев. Это означает, что та многогранная и многоаспектная бедность, о которой неделю назад заявила госпожа фон дер Ляйен, когда она объявила, что 800 миллиардов евро будут изъяты из пенсионных фондов всех европейских пенсионеров из всех 28 стран и направлены на перевооружение Европы в течение следующих пяти лет.

Так что если премьер-министр Великобритании, президент Франции, новый канцлер Германии и я не должен упускать из виду своего премьер-министра, которого греки иногда называют дворецким европейских лидеров, лидеров Европейского союза. Если эти люди не руководствуются прагматичными рассуждениями и логикой понимания мировой истории последних 200 лет и истории русского народа, то эти люди живут в параллельной вселенной, а то и в параллельном мире.

Вот почему я считаю, что в контексте публичной дипломатии Ассоциация и Друзья Крыма, работающие наряду с официальной дипломатией, дополняя друг друга в различных областях, таких как политология, история, культура, спорт, — я с большим интересом выслушал госпожу директора «Артек». Все эти пути сотрудничества между народами — необходимый инструмент для того, чтобы разрушить стену лжи.

         Стену лжи, которая существовала между Востоком и Западом во время холодной войны в 50-е годы. Теперь эта невидимая стена лжи поддерживается новыми технологиями, поэтому технофеодальные олигархи из Евросоюза и Северной Америки пытаются создать эту невидимую стену, чтобы разделить людей. Но я верю, и на мне лежит большая историческая ответственность за эту веру, что европейский народ, русский народ, народы Евразии, Африки и Латинской Америки снова дадут очень сильный отпор, потому что сегодня это самый непредсказуемый игрок в политике. Возможно, вы не можете предсказать поведение мистера Трампа. Вы не можете предугадать действия европейских лидеров, но вы никогда не сможете предугадать, чем пожертвуют народы ради настоящей демократии, настоящей справедливости, настоящего человеческого мира.
