HISTORIA MAGISTRA VITAE? IT SEEMS NO. REFLECTION ON CONFLICT

By Stefano Valdegamberi

Press release

First, NATO, against any commitment made, enters and wants to dictate the law in the homes of others. Then they complain to us because the others put them at the door. As always, history teaches that when one wants to impose oppressive conditions on others in situations of weakness, others suffer them as long as they can, then they rebel. This was the case in Hitler's Germany after the humiliating conditions set by the French and British for defeat in the First World War. The commitment initially made by Westerners with Gorbachev's weak Russia not to extend NATO' s influence beyond the Elbe has been progressively disregarded, until it reaches the home of the others. Then we wanted to go even further, wanting to involve Ukraine. A state that has never existed since it has always been one with Russia. There the Russian nation was born in the ninth century, thanks to the Rus, those Vikings who came down the banks of the Dnieper river that bathes Kiev. To speak of Ukraine as an entity other than Russia is to speak of something that does not make sense. The Russian people recognized themselves as such precisely in the lands of Ukraine. A prominent American politician said it would be a mistake to go east. But the sense of superiority and invincibility, taking advantage of the opponent's weakness, led to not respecting every commitment made, hurting the legitimate national pride of the Russian people. Now that they have said stop we are all amazed. But why didn't we stop doing it before? Instead we continued to challenge the then weak adversary, supporting internal disagreements, thinking of getting away with it and having won it. The consequence of this is the conflict that you never know where it leads and who it involves. We and our children could also be involved. Why don't we stay out of the way for once in other people's homes where we know little or nothing about their reasons and their history? Why do we have the arrogance to always pose as the regulators of the world?

HISTORIA MAGISTRA VITAE? PARE DI NO. RIFLESSIONE SUL CONFLITTO

Di Stefano Valdegamberi

Press release
