Hendrik Weber Resigns from the Red Party
The Chairman of the Friends of Crimea Norway Club Hendrik Weber announced his resignation from the Red Party (Rødt) after it initiated the procedure of his exclusion. The Party leadership has long been dissatisfied with Hendrik’s statements and support for Russia. A few days ago, the Board demanded from him a formal apology for the Facebook post of 21st February 2022 in which Mr. Weber congratulated the two republics Donetsk and Lugansk for recognition. As a protest for such an audacious demand, Hendrik Weber terminated the Party membership at that Board meeting.
Mr.Weber’s position does not agree with the Red Party's line, that does not endorse his media activities and free speech. Recently he contributed five posts in various newspapers, was interviewed on the radio – all commenting on the current global political situation. Just yesterday, another article appeared in the press. Since then, he received voluminous letters from supporters of Russia and people who are concerned about democracy and freedom of expression in Norway.
Hendrik Weber is confident that his collective activities as a participant of the Friends of Crimea International Association are an effective share of the Peoples Diplomacy - the one that builds strong relationships between nations, supporting trade and economic partnerships, advancing prosperity of the nations.
