Crimea Platform: Joint Appeal of 16 Leading Russian Political Experts

TO THE EXPERT COMMUNITY AND CIVIL SOCIETY

OF THE NATIONS OF THE GLOBE

Appeal of the Leading Experts of the Russian Federation

On August 23 of this year, the Kiev authorities, with the support of a number of countries, mainly from the NATO military-political bloc and the EU, are staging a provocative and populist event - the so-called "International Platform for the De-Occupation of Crimea (Crimean Platform)" summit. It will attempt to consolidate anti-Russian circles in efforts to undermine Russia's territorial integrity.

One of the key dimensions of the summit is the discussion of all issues at the level of the expert community. As representatives of the expert and civic society of Russia, we consider it necessary to make the following statement.

1. In 2014, in a referendum the population of Crimea legitimately made its choice in favor of reunification with Russia. Therefore, the issue of Russia's integrity cannot be the subject of discussions at any level. The Russian status of Crimea is enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

2. It is obvious to us that the event in Kiev threatens with serious consequences peace and stability not only in Europe, but also on the Eurasian continent as the whole.

3. The summit is aimed at inciting hostility towards Russia, leads to confrontation and conflict in the Black Sea-Azov region.

In this regard, we appeal to our foreign colleagues, to all those who have the right and opportunity to influence the adoption of responsible decisions in their own countries and in international organizations, with a proposal to actively contribute to the restoration of constructive relations with Russia.

We call not to participate in provocative political activities that make our world even more fragile and unstable.

ОБРАЩЕНИЕ К ЭКСПЕРТНОМУ И ГРАЖДАНСКОМУ СООБЩЕСТВУ

СТРАН МИРА

23 августа с. г. киевские власти при поддержке целого ряда стран, преимущественно из военно-политического блока НАТО и ЕС, проводят провокационное и популистское по своему характеру мероприятие - так называемый саммит «Международная площадка по деоккупации Крыма (Крымская платформа)». На нем будет предпринята попытка консолидировать антироссийские круги на усилиях по подрыву территориальной целостности России.

Одним из ключевых измерений саммита является обсуждение всех вопросов на уровне экспертного сообщества. Как представители экспертного и гражданского сообщества России, мы считаем необходимым заявить следующее.

В 2014 году население Крыма на референдуме легитимно сделало свой выбор в пользу воссоединения с Россией. Поэтому вопрос целостности России не может быть предметом дискуссий любого уровня. Российский статус Крыма закреплен в Конституции Российской Федерации.
Нам очевидно, что мероприятие в Киеве грозит серьезными последствиями для мира и стабильности не только в Европе, но и на евразийском континенте.
Саммит направлен на разжигание враждебности в отношении России, ведет к конфронтации и конфликту в Черноморско-Азовском регионе.

В этой связи мы обращаемся к своим зарубежным коллегам, ко всем, у кого есть право и возможность влиять на принятие ответственных решений в своих странах и в международных организациях, с предложением активно содействовать восстановлению конструктивных отношений с Россией.Мы призываем не принимать участия в провокационных политических мероприятиях, которые делают наш мир еще более хрупким и нестабильным.
